Meine Woche - Rückblick KW 49

Heute möchte ich mal die Blog-Serie von Paddy klauen, die immer sonntags einen kurzen Wochenrückblick mit Fotos von Instagram in ihrem bekannten Blog Innen & Aussen postet. Ob es bei mir auch eine Reihe wird, weiß ich noch nicht.

Gesehen: wie immer zu viel ... Montag The Fosters im Disney Channel (Serie von Jennifer Lopez über eine Patchwork-Familie bzw. ein lesbisches Paar mit vielen Pflegekindern), Mittwoch Grey's Anatomy, Donnerstag die 2. Doppelfolge von Little Dorit auf Arte (eine Charles Dickens Verfilmung mit Matthew MacFadyen) Samstag Sushi in Suhl auf EinsFestival (Ossi-Komödie) und Dicte auf zdfneo (dänischer Krimi mit einer Zeitungsreporterin aus Aarhus), außerdem die ersten neuen Folgen von Der Tatortreiniger mit Bjarne Mädel (dem Ernie aus Stromberg) - echt Kult!

Gelesen: Backrezepte, TV Spielfilm

Gehört: Die neue Single Bully von Robbie Williams von seinem Under the Radar Album, das es wohl nur online geben wird, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe. Not impressed. Song gefällt mir gar nicht. Ansonsten viele Weihnachtslieder - gefühlt jedes 2. war von Michael Bublé, ist aber nicht schlimm, den mag ich ganz gern.

Getan: Mehrmals das Auto freigekratzt am Anfang der Woche - das Eis war echt fies dieses Mal! Termin wegen potenziellem Hausbau gehabt, war ganz interessant. Gestern 2 Sorten Plätzchen gebacken und den Rest Weihnachtsdeko verteilt. Heute Spaziergang zum örtlichen Weihnachtsmarkt. Und beim Fernsehen versucht, einen 2. Bascetta-Stern ohne Hilfe zu basteln. Ist aber noch nicht ganz fertig.

Meine liebe Blogger-Kollegin Caren von testundliebe hat mich getaggt - also werde ich mal brav ihren Fragenkataglog abarbeiten ;-)

1. Was bedeutet Glück für Dich?

Zeit mit Menschen zu verbringen, die mir etwas bedeuten. Sich über Kleinigkeiten freuen können.

2. Du gewinnst eine Million im Lotto. Was tust Du mit der Kohle?

Klare Sache, ich baue mir mit meinem Freund unser Traumhaus!

3. Wein oder Bier?

Bier mag ich eigentlich nur als Radler, also mit Limo gemischt. Bei Wein schmeckt mir Grüner Veltliner oder Pinot Grigio oder der eine oder andere Rotwein, aber ich trinke meistens kaum 1 Glas.

4. Hast Du ein Hobby neben dem Bloggen?

Fernsehserien gucken - ist das ein Hobby? Was mache ich sonst noch gerne? Fotografieren, ins Kino gehen, Lesen, ganz normale Sachen eben. Letztes Jahr wollte ich Schmuck selber basteln, hat aber nicht so wirklich geklappt. 

5. Dein Lieblingsessen?

Hach, so viele Fragen, wo man sich entscheiden oder festlegen muss, was mir immer sehr schwer fällt! Lachs aus dem Ofen mit Couscous und Gemüse ist immer wieder toll. Hatte ich das Rezept oder ein Foto davon nie gepostet? Es ist aber auf meiner Pinterest Seite, das weiß ich sicher ... (Cover-Foto des Food-Boards)

Robbies neues Album

Am 1. 11. hab ich das neue Robbie Williams Album "Take the Crown" bei Amazon vorbestellt und prompt war es am nächsten Tag im Briefkasten. Klappt doch.

Das Cover, naja, war ja schon auf Robbies Website zu sehen, gefällt mir nicht wirklich mit dieser goldenen Büste. (Auf dem Foto mit original-Kratzern und Staub oder Flecken auf der Hülle, hehe.)

Wetten, dass ich gestern ZDF geschaut habe?

Man kann mir sicher nicht vorwerfen, dass ich einfach nur auf den Wetten, dass ...? Zug / Hype aufspringen will, denn die Sendung gehört bei mir quasi zur Familientradition, d.h. ich habe nur selten eine Ausgabe verpasst, und sei es nur, um darüber zu lästern.

Als Thomas Gottschalk dann seinen Rückzug verkündet hat und die Suche nach einem Nachfolger losging, hat mich das alles eigentlich wenig interessiert. Auch dass Markus Lanz es jetzt moderieren sollte, war mir mehr oder weniger wurscht, aber gestern hat dann doch die Neugier gesiegt und ich wollte mir selber einen Eindruck verschaffen, wie er sich macht und was am Konzept geändert wurde.

First of all, I thought the video would be embedded. Damn.

Secondly, I’ve now paid more attention to Robbie’s lyrics and can’t help smiling every time I hear this line: “All we’ve ever wanted is to look good naked, hoping someone can take it”. You gotta love RW for this.

Thirdly, greatness vs. asshole-ness (brought up by a friend's comment): I don’t think you necessarily have to be an asshole to be great. Yes, Robbie is a poser on stage, but that’s part of what makes him such a great entertainer. I’d never call him an asshole. As to his greatness, I think that has a lot to do with who he works with. As mentioned before, I hated his last album Rudebox although I own all of his other CDs. I know he wanted to try something new but it just didn’t work for me. Now he has teamed up with songwriting partner (or producer??) Guy Chambers again and it seems to have been a good decision. We’ll have to wait and see how the whole album sounds once it comes out.

I could go on with psycho-analyzing Robbie or go into a philosophical discussion of what defines greatness, but I guess I’ll postpone that : )

Other random stuff that's on my mind: I'm wondering why I don't like Season 7 of 24 as much as the ones before.
Possible reasons:
- It's on too late (from 10:30 to 00:30) so I'm just too tired to properly notice the good quality.
- The German dubbing is bad - well, it always has been on that show. Some of the voices just sound wrong.
- The quality really has gone down. Must check the web for reviews of Day 7. Miss President Palmer.

When I first heard the song about a week ago, I thought "Oh no, not this Rudebox crap again", but then the "All we've ever wanted" part started and by the end of the song I was convinced that Robbie's greatness still exists : )

Facebook is down : (

A couple of hours ago I logged into Facebook briefly at work. I wanted to post something on a newly added friend's wall but got an error message. Then I tried to suggest friends for him but got another error message. I looked up a radio station and clicked on "become a fan". Nothing happened. I gave up, but couldn't even log out properly. Now I'm at home and can't even log in anymore. This sucks. I guess I'm addicted : )

I've been meaning to post some thoughts on Facebook anyway. Can't remember them now. Great. It was something along the lines of "Modern communication is very strange. It's for people like me who are lonely, but need to feel connected. But in the end it just makes you feel even lonelier." Or something like that. Not very uplifting. Sigh. Whatever.

What else:
Robbie Williams announced yesterday that a new single and album will come out in October and November. Yay, can't wait!

Public Enemies (Christian Bale's new movie) opened today in German movie theaters. Don't have anyone to come along. Hm. Still want to see it on the big screen. Must work that out somehow.

Musicovery etc.

This week I read on www.radioszene.de about the newest development regarding Pandora and international users. Only people with an IP from the US and Canada can now register due to legal restrictions. I had been thinking about getting registered there or at last.fm but hadn’t done so yet. Now I’ve been looking for other options and came across www.musicovery.com (via an article at www.netzwelt.de). The website looks a bit like a colourful remote control. You can click in a mood area (the 4 extremes are calm, energetic, dark and positive) or choose decades or genres. If you point at a genre, you can also click somewhere between the 4 moods. I tried it for a while but found it hard to find something that suited my taste. The “stations” that started playing had a lot of unknown songs and/or artists in them. Maybe it would have helped to disable “non Hit”. Ah well, I couldn’t be bothered much longer.

Right now I’m trying last.fm (don’t know if it will stop playing after a while when I’m not registered). I entered Robbie Williams and am listening to a mix that includes Queen, Oasis, Keane, Bryan Adams, Anastacia, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, U2, Green Day, Maroon 5 etc. Nice enough for me. Maybe a bit too mainstream, but what can you expect when you enter Robbie? I would have thought they’d mix in a few lesser known artists. Hm.

Oh, and I also tried a web-only channel offered by a German radio station (RPR 1) that is called New Songs. Yes, I did get new songs, but interrupted by long commercial breaks and news. No thanks.

Another thing I found yesterday is www.gnoosic.com where you enter 3 artists you like and they suggest others you might like. For each artist you can choose between “like”, “don’t like” and “unknown”. Unfortunately, the site doesn’t offer audio samples. That is even sadder because the results you get include lots of unknown bands (at least to me). But at the end you get a summary with links to Amazon so you might find audio clips there.

So much for my experience with personalized online radio or whatever you want to call it.

As to me:
The weather is really hot at the mo and I don’t like it much.
My fave soccer team is in the national cup final which takes place in Berlin on Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed.
I have next week off and will probably go to Leipzig for a day to meet my best friend who I haven’t seen for a year.

Weird day

On Thursday night the service team aka the back office team aka the assistants went out for dinner to an Italian restaurant. We had a good time and the food tasted good. I was home at about 11.30. But on Friday morning, I felt awful. Stomach ache. I first thought I couldn’t go to work at all, but it got a little better so I went. But the cramps started again so after about 2 hours, I asked my colleagues if it was okay if I went home. There was nothing urgent to be done that day and they saw that I looked even paler than usual, so I could go. At home, I felt a little better, of course, but still very tired and hungry.

But I was well enough to go the soccer match I had tickets for. There was me and my sister and my dad, and my sister’s best friend and her boyfriend joined us later, i.e. they got to the stadium by motorbike while we went by public transport. It was the 2nd match of the season, and the 1st home match. We, i.e. the team (1. FCN, see www.fcn.de) had won the match the week before 3-0 so we were at the top of the table – a very unusual thing for this club. The atmosphere in the stadium was very good. FCN has the best fans in Germany anyway (that’s what they say, at least, hehe). And we got free flags before the match, sponsored by the team’s beer supplier. Yay. We scored after 5 minutes. More yay. Unfortunately, one of the best players was injured after 20 minutes and after that, the team kind of lost its orientation. They managed to keep the 1-0, though. Even more yay. As we had to catch the train back home, we couldn’t stay in the stadium for long after the end of the match. We were almost squeezed to death on the train back to the central station, but we caught our connection train and didn’t have to wait an hour until midnight for the next one. So that was Friday night.

Nothing major planned for the weekend. I’ll watch Veronica Mars and The O.C. this afternoon and listen to the Robbie Williams concert from Vienna (see other post below) on the radio tonight. Tomorrow I’ll make pizza with my sister for lunch. I hope my stomach’s gonna agree with that.

Random stuff

Yesterday: was in town again (as every Saturday, it seems) to get my eyes tested for my new glasses. Had to wait 45 minutes for the test and was quite angry because of that. Of course, I didn’t say anything, I just grumbled internally or whatever you want to call that. I kept looking at my watch because my parking time was running out and there were 2 other errands I had to run. I didn’t get a parking ticket, but I was sweaty and exhausted when I got back to my car. And in a bad mood, also because I was hungry. My mood got better in the afternoon, when there was that Juanes concert I love so much on TV. Could watch it in a neverending loop. So good. When it was over, I watched the parts of another concert that I had taped recently. There it’s just him and his guitar player with acoustic guitars. Wonderful. Gotta copy it to audio tape so I can listen to it in my car.

What else: watched Donnie Darko last night. Very strange film. Must look the symbolism up on the internet. I’m sure there’s a lot of info around somewhere.

Robbie Williams’ new song Rudebox completely sucks. He never should have split from his songwriter Guy Chambers. His most recent album ... (see, I can't even remember the title) wasn't as good as the ones before, and the next seems to be worse, judging from this first single. The German concerts of his European tour are over now. From what I’ve heard, he’s still a good entertainer, but his voice wasn’t the best and he couldn’t remember the lyrics sometimes. And he seems to be on drugs again. Well, who knows. I’ll still listen to his concert from Vienna. That will be broadcast by several radio stations the coming Saturday from 9 p.m. CET, for example by www.bayern3.de or www.radio24.ch if anyone wants to listen in.
