I've started reading the first book of the
Twilight series that I mentioned recently and I love it. It's got 500 pages and I'm already on page 420 or something like that (even though I wasn't home most nights this week). I'm reading it in German, but I think I'll have to get it in the English original for myself soon.
Vampires, mhmm. I always think the "Blade" Movie series and the Buffy-style TV-Shows killed the whole vampire genre. Are the books you read "classic" or "modern" vampire stuff.
AntwortenLöschenAs I understand it, only "classic" vampire themes are tolerable. I think the whole (classic) idea of vampires and vampirism is rich with "freudian" sexual undertones. Which I regard as the morbid, dark erotic strength of the whole genre. Naturally, those things totally get killed by muscle packed, sword swinging, daywalking coolness vampires... :-)
